Imtiaz Sooliman Honoured with Social Responsibility Award at the Inaugural Ubuntu Awards

Imtiaz Sooliman and the Gift of the GiversImtiaz Sooliman has been honoured for his contribution to enhancing the South African brand both locally and abroad.

The Gift of the Givers founder, and topic of Shafiq Morton’s book Imtiaz Sooliman and the Gift of the Givers: A Mercy to All, received the Social Responsibility Award from President Jacob Zuma during the Inaugural Ubuntu Awards at the Cape Town International Convention Centre earlier this month.

These awards were established to recognise South African industry leaders and eminent persons for their contribution to promoting South Africa’s national interests and values across the world. Other recipients included swimmer and author of Unbelievable, Chad le Clos (UbuntuSport Diplomacy Award); singers Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse and Yvonne Chaka-Chaka (UbuntuCultural Diplomacy Award) and South Africa’s first High Commissioner to Canada, Billy Modise (UbuntuLifetime Achiever Award).

Several individuals and organisations were honoured for their contribution to enhancing Brand South Africa locally and abroad.

The President said their contributions were well deserved.
