Jonathan Jansen Receives the Chivas Humanitarian Award at the Absa Jewish Achievers Awards 2014

How to Fix South Africa's SchoolsJonathan Jansen, co-author of How to Fix South Africa’s Schools, won the Chivas Humanitarian Award at this year’s Absa Achievers Awards.

The South African Jewish Report liveblogged the awards as musician Johnny Clegg, a previous winner of the award which is made in honour of the late Chief Rabbi Cyril Harris, announced that Jansen had won.

Jansen is the Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Free State, and was honoured for his positive leadership at the university and for playing a role in the transformation of education throughout the country.
